Holy fuck.

did anyone catch the daily show last night, and did you see that bit about the Walmart Halo 3 commercial?

My god, it was THEE most disgusting piece of faked up marketing ploy bullshit I've ever seen in my life. It was so totally detached from the product it was sad.

they had these 'correspondents' or whatever you want to call them, who were your typical gymbo (gym bimbo) gino people who look like they drink at Tila Tequila on the weekend. These people look like the only time they had any involvement with an xbox was the last time they walked in on their loser brother playing some xbox game, told him hes not going to "get any pussy playing with himself", called him a "fucking fag" and left the room.

So they were discussing this HOT new Wicked Cool Radical newsflash,
"Halo 3, the most important game in game history is out soon, and the best place to get it fast is WALMART!".
blah blah blah
"You have to get your hands on Halo 3, its totally awesometastic, and is the greatest game ever made, and ONLY WALMART has it RIGHT NOW"

THEN!!! TO TOP OFF THAT HILARITY, they had this MADE UP "trend" spotting bit,

so douchebag gino says to gymbo hoe:
"So have you heard about Skurban?"
gymbo hoe:
"Oh you mean Urban fashion meets Skate fashion! yes it's so totally cool!"

What is that? Some wicked attempt by walmart to what? reintroduce randy river style 90s clothes to clueless midwest american halo dorks or something??

I hope they also featured some cool performance by a band like Hoobastank playing a song inspired by Halo 3. hahaha.

It was amazing, it was such a piece of shit I couldn't believe it. It out corned the worst tv infomercial for Time Life Yacht Rock collections or whatever else I've ever seen, and I only saw the daily show clips.

found some of it on the daily show site
http://www.comedycentral.com/shows/the_daily_show/index.jhtml
"Fake Vets" clip. the Skurban thing is missing, it was aired just before commercial.

Says alot about the lame game too haha, when they have to try to ram it down your throat via phony infomercials.

While bored out of my skull I came across this:

The 200 Greatest Songs of the 1960s
Story by Pitchfork staff

What a joke! Consider this my quarterly pitchfork bitch out. I could pick out a ton of lame things about it, like the transparent selections, but it can be summarized by the top 2!

#2 is JACKSON FIVE, hahahah what a joke.
#1 is The Beach Boys: "God Only Knows", which is wonderfully fitting since the site is written by those people who think Pet Sounds changed the face of music history (ha!). #7 is also from Pet Sounds, what a collection of ignorant fops. Basically hendrix, the supremes, bob dylan, the kinks, the who, beach boys, made about 10 entries each, and the deepest they get into soul is Archie Bell and the Drells with 2 entries? I don't think I saw skim the surface Green Onions on there!

It wouldn't bother me if they called it 200 Great songs from the 60s. I wish you could comment on their articles, I'd have a new hobby.

oh man, they've done a top 100 albums of the 80s recently too. I guess they're running dry on the everflowing "indie" crap to hype and want to try to scrape up some music "cred" for things with a longer shelf life then a 2 week popularity window.

I thought my wallet was stolen at the theatre on saturday, couldn't find it anywhere. I was wigging out. Put a damper going out for any saturday night activities. I cancelled all my cards. They called me sunday, they'd found it, must've shot out of my coat pocket while taking my coat of in some elaborate matador-esque twirl or something.

Had a nice time at Katie and Vince's that night though. I like their apartment, nice layout.

Maryanne (and I) adopted a kitten on thursday, hes great, hes nameless, he loves branches, he's hyper when we want to goto bed.

We watched V for Vendetta last night, I liked it. Little Miss Sunshine, the movie I was at the theatre for when I lost the wallet, I thought was kinda mediocre.

Corey and I are at Brixton's this friday, last time I saw Sean, Adrian, Amanda, Sara, and more walking down Sparks around 10, I thought they were stopping in, but no haha, going to the Dom. Amanda said she didn't know, now, I don't really care if people on my journal show up, if you don't care about the music, or would rather get hosed at the dom, go for it, but I thought people at least knew when it was going on. So fyi,

My Ska/Soul/Rock and Roll night is at Brixton's this Friday

maybe I'll see you out. On that note the last one was great, people were dancing from 11:30 on, and the two new Bartenders want to work our night from now on, so getting drinks will be much smoother then it used to be.

I'm hoping the weathers good and the patio will be open, cause the music is out there now I managed to get the indoor sound working alot better last time so instead of 2 utility speakers, we had a really full sound going through the ceiling speakers as well

Hope to see you out, we'll probably have the patio open, and hopefully with the windows open the sound will mask the tunes coming from the "edge".
